Norwood Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 13, 2026
The short version
Norwood does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. There is no account, no cloud, no analytics, and no advertising. Everything you put into the app - photos, notes, and treatment records - is stored only on your device and never leaves it.
Who we are
Norwood is a hair-loss progress tracking app for iOS and Android, developed by EitanX Labs, the independent app studio of Eitan Michaelevich. This policy covers the Norwood mobile app. If you have any questions about it, contact founder@eitanx.com.
Data the app stores on your device
To do its job, Norwood stores the following information in its own private, sandboxed storage on your device:
- Scalp photos you capture or import, and the thumbnails generated from them.
- Notes you attach to photos.
- Treatments you add, their schedules, reminders, and the doses you log.
- App settings and preferences.
This data is stored locally and is never uploaded, transmitted, or shared by the app. We (the developer) have no access to it and no copy of it. The app makes no network requests, contains no analytics or advertising SDKs, and requires no account.
Data we collect
None. Norwood collects no personal data, no usage data, no identifiers, and no diagnostics. Because nothing is collected, nothing is sold, shared, or used for advertising or tracking.
Device permissions
Norwood asks for a small number of system permissions, each used only for its obvious purpose and only on your device:
- Camera- to take scalp photos using the system camera. Photos are saved into the app's private storage.
- Photo library - to import existing photos you choose through the system picker. The app only receives the photos you select.
- Notifications - to show treatment reminders. Reminders are scheduled locally on your device; no notification data is sent anywhere.
- Biometrics (optional)- if you enable the app lock, unlocking is handled entirely by your device's operating system (Face ID, Touch ID, or the Android equivalent). Norwood never sees or stores your biometric data; it only receives a success or failure result.
You can decline or revoke any of these permissions at any time in your device settings; the related features simply stop working.
Health-related information
Photos of your scalp and records of your treatments are sensitive, health-related information. Norwood treats them accordingly: they are stored only on your device, are never transmitted or shared, and are never used for advertising, marketing, or any purpose other than showing you your own progress.
This app is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition.
Export and sharing
Norwood may offer features that let you export your data (for example, as a zip archive) or share it using your device's share sheet. These actions only happen when you initiate them, and anything you export or share is under your control from that point on.
Device backups
If you use your device's backup features (such as iCloud Backup or Google's device backup), your device may include Norwood's data in those backups. Backups are managed by your device and governed by Apple's or Google's privacy policies and your own backup settings - not by Norwood.
Data retention and deletion
Your data stays on your device until you delete it. You can delete individual photos, notes, and treatments inside the app at any time. Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all of its data from your device. Because we hold no copies, there is nothing for us to delete on our end and no deletion request is needed.
Children
Norwood is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any data from anyone - children included.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of Norwood changes how data is handled (for example, an optional cloud sync), we will update this policy and change the date at the top before that version ships. Material changes will also be highlighted in the app.
